The Symposium, held in the facilities of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, will offer academic papers on the music traditions of Africa plus many performances by local and international musicians.


 There will be two main areas of emphasis this year: 1. Music Education and the Study of African Music, and 2. African Choral Music Traditions. A number of papers will also focus on the field of Ethnomusicology in Africa, in general.
